Edinburgh Guild has an Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Workshop organised on Saturday 21st April at Craiglockhart Church, Edinburgh EH14 1HS from 10.30-3.30 and they have a couple of places left. The instructor is Trisha Gow – www.dyeingtoweave.co.uk – and the cost is only £24. Tea and coffee is provided but participants should bring their own lunch. In 2010, Louise started producing work which reflected and responded to the countries she lived and traveled in: Mongolia, Turkey, Iceland, Finland and lately Scotland. The talk will take you through these lands, outlining areas of inspiration, and how she approached translating the information into woven tapestries.
Requirements: Carders/blending board/drum carder, Spinning wheel
Fee: £10-00: Materials
Spinners will get 100g of hand painted tops. / Blenders will get 200g. Participants who wish to spin and blend will get 50g of spinning fibre and 100g of blending fibre. The tutor will bring extra fibre to be used as well.
