Our Guild exists to provide a sociable environment for members to practise their skills, learn new skills and share skills with each other and anyone interested in learning.
We regularly have informal or formal workshops and demonstrate skills in public at craft fairs, farmers markets, schools, etc.
Meetings are generally on the second Saturday of each month from 11.30 to 15.30 hrs (workshops sometimes run to 16.00 hrs) Our new hall is Lincluden Community Centre, The address is College Road DG2 0DL.
If you turn off the A76 towards the recycling centre, go right by the recycling centre, there are some new houses on your right, the centre is on the right just opposite the pub.
A Guild Meeting generally follows this format:
- 11.30 -12.00 members arrive, greet and chat
- 12.00 -12.30 – Guild business is discussed
- Lunch (bring a packed lunch with you!)
- workshops or skill share will then start and carry on until 15.30
Anyone not participating in workshops tends to bring their own spinning, weaving, knitting projects, etc. to work at whilst catching up with news and events.
Check out our programme – you are welcome to visit us for a meeting or two, to see what we do, and have a chat with members.
Visitors pay £4 (which includes refreshments), before joining the Guild. Introduce yourself to one of the Committee members who will show you the library, tell you about borrowing equipment and help make you feel welcome.
Below are some photos of our members’ work, representative of the various Association disciplines. And that’s Sebastian (one of our member’s lambs) having a nosy around the spinning wheel.
